For over 34 years he has been a village potter\, making useful objects and selling locally through his studio and arts and crafts fairs throughout Virginia. He has taught with Fairfax County Parks and Recreation\, given private lessons in his studio\, and mentored high school students with an interest in ceramics. Mike will guide you through the processes of wheel throwing\, trimming\, decorating\, and finally\, glazing your finished pots. During this 8-week class\, you will make cylinders (tumblers and mugs)\, bowls\, closed form containers with lids\, and plates. Along the way\, he will not only grow your technical proficiency at the wheel\, but also stimulate your creativity.

DESCRIPTION:The ceramic studio open session is available by appointment (only) on school/work holidays.
