I have always enjoyed creating objects and environments. As a child, I delighted in making costumes out of paper grocery bags, doll furniture from mudpies and elaborate tent forts. I strive to achieve that level of joy and experimentation in my artwork today.

I play with metal by annealing and forming it into shapes, usually spirals and ovals.  Frequently, I start with a beautiful stone and work a design around it. I pride myself in soldering and forging each piece entirely from basic elements.  I love to watch a seemingly unyielding substance become flowing and elegant.

Most of my work is soldered sterling silver jewelry which I create in my studio, inside my shop, Sweet Art Emporium, located at 264 Turkeysag Trail in Palmyra, Va.  I teach one-day jewelry, sculpture, and soldering workshops. Through my business, I strive to help other artists share their artwork with our community and in return, I get to create in an environment surrounded by locally crafted artwork.
